Oxycontin Manufacturer: ‘Don’t blame us for the opioid epidemic’

The makers of Oxycontin want to shift the blame for the opioid epidemic in United States. However, Tennessee Attorney General, Herbert Slatery, claims Purdue Pharma used high pressure sales tactics to push prescriptions of oxycontin on overworked and under skilled doctors. According to the Health Resources and Services Administration, 116 people die a day from opioid related drug overdoses in the United States.
