Racism, social issues take center stage in NFL, Premier League

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has stepped down from the NFL’s RISE initiative after drawing criticism for hosting a fundraiser for President Trump. Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills and former NFL defensive end Chris Long spoke out on why Ross’ involvement with the President contradicts the work that RISE does with repairing racial ties and working on social justice issues. Stills also blasted Jay-Z for agreeing to be involved with the NFL. Over in the Premier League, Manchester United is supporting one of its own, midfielder Paul Pogba, after racists comments surfaced on line after United’s 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Other players in the league including Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham and Reading’s Yakou Meite were also racially attacked. After three racists attacks in four days, Premier League is looking to social media giants to help curtail the rising trend. RT America’s Regina Ham joins Scottie Nell Hughes to discuss.
