The island of santorini was created by an volcano and is midway between the mainland of Greece and Turkey. It’s circular shape is due to the remaining caldera. The due to the fact the water are pretty deep near the coast reaching depths of 11,000 feet,, this allows for a more profound blue color you won’t see anywhere else. This pool has an amazing view of the ocean blue. The cliffs along the horizon, add for a great background and help remind you, there is some land nearby. The turquoise waters, amazing sunsets and the mild Aegean climate make this a popular location for honeymooners.
5. Gili Lankanfushi, Maldives
This hotel located on the shrinking islands of Maldives, features 45 unbelievable overwater villas. The first rules while staying here is no news and no shoes. You come here to escape the outside world, not to keep up with current events. Each villa is equipped with its own jet ski and your personal butler. Don’t even think about accessing wifi here. You’re only objective is to soak up the sun and take in the gorgeous light blue colors of the Indian Ocean.
