Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reports that KIlauea Volcano Fissure 8 continues to produce a large channelized lava flow to the ocean.
Officials say the small overflow outbreak near the intersection of Highway 132 and Pohoiki is now fully confined to the channel.
More residents of Lower Puna are told to be ready to evacuate on a moment’s notice. Scientists are keeping a close eye on lava that’s cresting a raised flow channel near the intersection of Highway 132 and Pohoiki.
It’s just some of the lava continuing to pour out of Volcano Kilauea Fissure number 8- the eruption’s most productive fissure, according to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory experts. People are also reminded to stay out of Lava Tree State Park just north of Leilani Estates.
