Iran denies President Trump’s claims that a US warship destroyed an Iranian drone near the Persian Gulf. The Iranian military says all of its drones safely returned to their bases, and denied any confrontation with a US vessel. But Iran claims the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has seized a foreign tanker accused of “smuggling oil.” That tanker reportedly was intercepted on Sunday in the Strait of Hormuz. Elsewhere, protesters in Hawaii continue their long-running effort to stop construction of a $1.4 billion telescope, blocking a road to the top of a mountain that is considered sacred to native Hawaiians. The latest protests came one day after authorities arrested nearly three dozen people. The price for insulin has skyrocketed over the past 15 years in the United States, leaving a growing number of diabetics rationing their medicine or dying. Jack Rasmus, author and professor of political economy at St. Mary’s College, weighs in.
